We are very happy to present for the Reda Troupe, who will be performing throughout Canada for the first time! The Reda Troupe performance will commemorate the group’s special 50th anniversary. The Troupe was created by brothers Mahmoud and Ali Reda, as well as the renowned dancing artist, Farida Fahmy. Their first performance will take place in Montreal, Quebec on Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6, 2009. Next, the famous troupe will travel to the capital of Canada to perform in Ottawa, Ontario, on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2009. The troupe will then travel west, to perform in Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13, 2009.
The Troupe will have six official performances in Canada. This folkloric cultural festival is a collaboration of the foreign relations department in the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and the Egyptian Canadian Friendship Association (ECFA) in Canada. The ECFA has been organizing the Egyptian Festival in Canada annually since 2004.

Mr. Adel Iskander, President of the Egyptian Canadian Friendship Association has worked diligently in order for the Egyptian Festival to take place yearly in November. All the events over the years have been a great success, enjoyed by many cultural communities in Canada. Many members of the Canadian and Quebec parliament along with different cultural community leaders and members have been keen to participate and attend these events to share a taste of Egypt’s unique cultural contribution.

Egyptian and Arab diplomats have always participated in the Egyptian Festival in Canada, made possible by our generous sponsors: EgyptAir, the Tourist Egypt authority, the Egyptian Communications Department, as well as private companies and Egyptian associations. We thank them all for their sponsorship and support. The Canadian and Arabic media have highlighted that Canadian Members of Parliament have always supported the Egyptian Festival, which encourages intercultural relations. The Egyptian Festival by the Egyptian Canadian Friendship Association is listed on the Yearly Canadian Festivals list.

بمناسبة مرور 50 عاماً على تأسيس فرقة رضا للفنون الشعبية على يد محمود وعلى رضا والفنانة فريدة فهمى ستتجول فرقة رضا للمرة الأولى فى مقاطعات كندا المختلفة بداية من مونتريال بمقاطعة كيبيك ثم أوتاوا العاصمة فى مقاطعة أونتاريو ثم أقصى الغرب مقاطعة البرتا حيث تقدم فى كل مقاطعة عرضين وذلك فى رطار التعاون الدائم بين وزارة الثقافة المصرية قطاع العلاقات الخارجية الثقافية وجمعية الصداقة المصرية الكندية بكندا لإقامة المهرجان المصرى فى كندا سنويا.

وصرح عادل إسكندر رئيس جمعية الصداقة المصرية بكندا ان المهرجان يقام بصفة دائمة خلال شهر نوفمبر منذ سنة 2004 وقد لاقت العروض المصرية نجاحات ومشاركة غير عادية من الجاليات المختلفة الكندية والمصرية والعربية كما حرص عدد من اعضاء البرلمان الكندى ومسئولى الدولة عن سياسة تعدد الثقافات بالحكومة الكندية بالمشاركة والحضور.

كما يشارك بصفة مستمرة اعضاء البعثة الدبلوماسية المصرية واعضاء السلك الدبلوماسى العربى وهنا لابد من الاشادة بدعم وتعضيد الدائم من شركة مصر للطيران.. والهيئة العامة لتنشيط السياحة والهيئة العامة للإستعلامات والعديد من المؤسسات الخاصة والجمعيات المصرية ودعم وسائل الإعلام الكندية والعربية الدائم وقد عبر العديد من المسئولين في الحكومة الكندية ضرورة هذا المهرجان حيث انه المهرجان المصرى الوحيد على قائمة المهرجانات التى تقام فى كندا سنويا واضافت السيدة نانسى يوسف المنسق العام للمهرجان فى عامه الخامس ان هذه هى المرة الأولى ان تنجح جمعية الصداقة المصرية بكندا في تنسيق عروض للنشاطات والثقافات المصرية فى عدد من مقاطعات كندا وهى فرصة رائعة للشعب الكندى بمختلف جنسياته وثقافاته ليتعرف على فرقة رضا للنفون الشعبية خلال الفترة من 4 إلى 15 نوفمبر وقد بدأت بالفعل الحملات الإعلانية والإعلامية للمهرجان المصرى فى كندا فى عديد من الصحف العربية والكندية ووسائل الإعلام المختلفة.
